Coup d’œil: play development workshops.
play development workshops
Coup d’œil showcases theatrical works that have been in the public reading series À Voix haute. L'UniThéâtre offers a one-week development workshop/lab to the authors of the selected plays to put these new works on their feet in a preliminary staging, giving our audience a taste of what might be featured in upcoming seasons.
The Coup d’œil events are free and are followed by a talk-back with the writer, the actor(s), and the director. The final step in L'UniThéâtre's dramaturgical development structure, Coup d’œil allows writers to see their play with rudimentary staging in order to help them finish the editing process.

After hearing her text performed during L’UniThéâtre’s “À voix haute” public reading series, Valécia Pépin is diving back into the creative process to work on Illusion. In this new version, the author sheds light on her search for her identity; a journey that forced her to face many challenges that had lasting impacts on her life. This project aims to destigmatize and educate on a subject that is still rather taboo: prostitution. This new work in the midst of its creation promises to leave you feeling a multitude of emotions.
