(Prices subject to change)

Open to Francophone and immersion high schools, the Alberta Youth Theater Festival offers French-speaking students who are passionate about theater, the chance to share a one-act performance with their peers. Pieces are divided into two categories: 7th to 9th & 10th to 12th. They are presented in front of an audience made up of their peers and a jury during a weekend filled with activities, theater workshops and shows. At the end of the event, a dozen prizes are awarded by a jury to the pieces that have stood out in their category.

JEU THÉÂTRAL FRANCOPHONE DE L’ALBERTA (JTJA)

The JTJA is a general theatrical culture tournament type game. The tournament can be held in person or virtually, depending on the sanitary measures in place at the time. Explore the French-speaking theatrical universe by participating in this tournament where you will have the chance to answer various questions that will relate to the world of theatre. Each team will compete and rewards will be given to the best

Virtual FTJA : our virtual festival remains a possible option if large gatherings are not yet permitted. The Alberta Youth Theater Festival offers students who are passionate about theater the chance to share their passion with their peers and develop their skills during workshops led by professional artists.

The schedule for our 2020 virtual FTJA was divided into four weeks during the month of April. Workshops given by theater professionals were spread over these four weeks with prizes awarded during the closing at the end of the month.

Need a hand funding your school’s participation? There’s a grant for that! Check out our our “Financial Support” section!
